AHR Expo 2016
This year’s AHR Expo was held in Orlando, FL. It’s always nice when we can escape the cold for a few days and enjoy the latest technology in our industry.
The AHR Expo “brings the entire HVACR Industry together under one roof to see the latest products and technology, learn about innovations and trends, and build relationships.”
Featured Products
The multitude of products and new technology makes it difficult to choose a few products for us to feature as something really special; but, there were a few companies who had products / technology that we think are very much worth a mention, for the benefits they offer our company.
Viega
We have been installing Viega products since their products were brought to the US. The quality and innovation of their products are always among the best in the industry. Although Viega is very well known for their exceptional radiant heat products, they also offer top of the line ProPress fittings for plumbing and heating applications.
The latest in the line of ProPress fittings is the Double Drop Elbow Fitting.
This new fitting is designed to maintain water quality by reducing stagnation.
Viega’s Press Release states “The new, flow-through style fittings, designed with threaded fixture connections and integrated mounting brackets, are used in series or ring installations and can be used in hot or cold water systems. Flow-through fittings allow water distribution systems to be designed in new ways to reduce stagnation with configurations that allow the use of a single fixture to generate flow through many fixtures up to the point of connection. This type of system also minimizes dead legs between tees and wall penetrations.”
The new elbow design will help reduce water stagnation and increase flow through pipes and fixtures that are seldom-used.
You can read more about Viega’s commitment to water quality on their website.
GPS Insight
The next vendor that we were really impressed with actually was GPS tracking software by GPS Insight. Because this software is a benefit to us and our customers, we thought it deserved special mention.
GPS Insight benefits us by allowing us to track our fleet, improve time management and maintain accountability of our mobile workforce. There is even a Google Map feature which allows us to get real time traffic conditions. The reporting is great both for the entire fleet or individual trucks. We have the ability to send service alerts for each vehicle, which include service reminders for each vehicle.
The software benefits our customers by allowing our team to always know where our other trucks are. We can now be more reliable with estimated arrival times and better dispatch service technicians to emergency service requests.
Since we have been customers in the latter part of 2015, we have experienced an excellent support team who has helped us work through any training needs or issues we might be having.
